Urban areas are left to ascend to the Malahat Highlands, a territory of volcanic rock covered with 400-year-old Douglas fir forests, which in colonial times surrounded the city of Victoria itself. The rivers in this area have beds of alluvium material from ancient glaciers and erosion; They are home to thousands of salmon. From Malahat Summit you can see Sannich Bay, which is like an inverted fjord, where the land faces the glacier. In the lowlands there are many splendid farms (some with 2 annual harvests), orchards, tree nurseries, while the rivers are home to the Steelhead trout, which reaches a meter long. Continuing north and within sight of the Strait of Georgia, you leave Highway 19 to enter Highway 19a, along the sea until you reach Campbell River. Short crossing on the Campbell River – Quadra Island ferry to reach the Ripple Rock RV Park campsite at Browns Bay Resort. In front of this campsite pass the cruises on the Discovery Passage. 285 km to Campbell River. Visit the beaches of Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park.
